First, Place
Authored by Christopher C. Conway, Chief Philanthropy Officer & Executive Vice President of Strategic Communications
Indiana Biosciences Research Institute (IBRI) is defined by momentum. The foundational idea at IBRI is to keep science in motion, to make sure potential has a home. Life sciences is an endeavor that requires imagination and anticipates unpredictability. So, it’s natural that our scientists and our supporters understand each other.
Together, we are a community of investigators and families whose lived have been affected by the diseases we are working to cure. My role is to convene conversations around every initiative and across every aisle.
In ten years, IBRI has grown into its lofty mission and met many milestones in life sciences breakthroughs. We are home to pioneering work in multiple labs studying metabolic disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and pediatric rare diseases. We support startups and biotech innovators.
As we embark on our next phase, we’ll be focusing on telling our story to our allies in Indiana and the rest of the world.
IBRI’s story starts here. And in our post-pandemic era, we’ve all faced a lot of questions about the primacy of place. How much does it matter to gather? My belief is that it matters greatly, and not just because science is a team sport. Place matters because it is where culture is born, values live, and community is organic.
IBRI’s scientists and advocates are partners, and the place where we meet is here. Our campus is beautiful, our state-of-the-art labs are enviable, and our meeting places and open spaces are welcoming.
Now, we want you and everyone who cares about the quest to find cures to come visit, attend an event or open house, learn about our work and what makes this place unique and meaningful here in Indiana and beyond. Once you’ve visited, I think you’ll get it—what immediately attracted me is that this place truly matters.
Come see, and you might tell a friend, too.
