Karina Rodrigues dos Santos

Karina Rodrigues dos Santos works with Michael Kalwat, PhD, researching the molecular mechanisms of secretory cells using genetic and pharmacological tools.

Prior to joining the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute, Rodrigues dos Santos worked as a research technician at the Obesity and Comorbidities Research Center at the University of Campinas, Brazil, and was involved in the investigation of the molecular mechanisms involved in insulin secretion, beta cell maintenance and glycemic homeostasis.

During her work to obtain her master's degree, Rodrigues dos Santos researched endoplasmic reticulum stress in pancreatic beta cells. View her published research here.
